On your official website last year, you wrote that some people had been pretending to be you in myspace. Does it still happen? How did you find out?

"I think it still happens though my record label was able to take down many of those sites. Some people have even pretended to be my best friend. They created sites for her, too, and it badly freaked her out. How did I find out? I just pretty much typed in ‘jojo’ in mysearch — and so many people have the same name as you should very well know — and I just weeded it out from there. Some have pictures of me as if they were personal pictures. Really strange."

Were you aware when you co-wrote your new single "How To Touch A Girl" that some people might think it’s about sex because of the title and not the straight on love song that it really is?

"The only people who would think the songs is like a how to manual on sex are those who have not listened to the songs. They are ignorant people or at least have not cared to listen to the song, that’s fine. I don’t want to sound rude but I don’t care. I can’t worry about something I have no control over. The song has nothing to do about physical touch but how to touch a girl emotionally. How to be a gentleman and win her over. Those are things that gets the girl in the long run."

"I think there are songs that could be sexy even if it’s not about sex. It could be about a romantic dinner with a special somebody or a walk in some park with stars overhead. None of that leads to sex or maybe it could. But that’s up to you. As a rule, I’m gonna sing songs I’m comfortable with. That’s why I'd rather wait to do my next album when I’m 18. My first album came out when I was 13 and, obviously, I was in a different place then. My latest came out when I was 15 and now I’m 16. I assume the next one, when it comes out, will be different from the other two because I’d be 19 then. In a way, I like it that my albums reflect my artistic growth."

"People just love to ask me that question. But, remember, I’m not Christina Aguilera neither is she Jojo. What I’m saying is that we’re two different people with two different paths before us. I’d like to keep it about the music as much as possible while still feeling sexy. Like I said, just because you keep your clothes on doesn’t mean you’re not sexy…"

"Funny you asked that because I’ve been seriously thinking of taking one. I’ve never taken voice lessons but I’m thinking that maybe in the meantime while between albums, I might as well do. I want the next album to transit me in a big way and learning about proper breathing and vocal exercise would help in that direction. I have to start to learn protecting my voice not only because it gets stressed when I sing, but also when doing interviews."

"My learners permit! Now I can drive which is more exciting and such freedom. I don’t have a car yet — I have to wait five more months before I could buy one after I get my real license. But my mom and uncle have been going to dealerships with me to help me figure out what kind of car I want."

"Yes, Japan. I was there for a week or two though I didn’t get to see much of the place because I was working all the time. But don’t worry: When my next album comes out and I have gained more control because I’d be 18 then — and adult though I probably won’t feel like one still! — I’m going to put my foot down and say, ‘I’m going to do a world tour, damn it!’ There are lots of things I like to that I haven’t got the opportunity to yet."

"Maybe end of the year because my priority now is to promote the album. But I am reading through scripts right now. Hopefully, my next movie would have me doing a dramatic role. The two comedy family movies I did were fun but I’d like to take on something more emotionally challenging."

"I don’t know how to feel. Maybe it’s a compliment to be mistaken for an older artist because it implies I have more control over my voice that many teenagers. Or that I’m abler to do things with my voice other young people can’t."

"It would be great with Ne-yo (who wrote Beyonce’s ‘Irreplaceable’ and had his own hit song, ‘So Sick’). I did a photo shoot with him recently and he’s really this versatile guy. Great composer. Great producer."

"Oooh, I don’t know. I’ll sing for anybody who’d listen. Singing for the president was such a great honor for me. Oh, I know! I’d love to sing overseas in one of those concerts for peace or to raise money for extreme poverty in Africa. That would be an honor if ever I get considered to be part of such."

"I love to shop! Like here in London, I love to find things people won’t find in the U.S. if that’s possible. Who’s my celebrity crush? David Beckham. Gorgeous man. Very athletic. I know he’s married but he’s just so nice to look at! (giggles)."

"All the time. You know Forever 21? It’s this clothing store in US where all the stuff are under a hundred dollars. I buy some of my clothes there because I like the idea of finding so much for so little. I wasn’t raised to be label-driven person. It’s fun to have fancy things but if I like something, I’d buy and wear it no matter who made them."

"No, I’m in 10th grade. Two years more of high school. But I’d like to study at a university someday. My best subjects are Science and English though my favorite is History."

"I was supposed to last year! But since I’m home schooled, it’s hard. But last year, I had to do Lab Biology so they sent me labs to do — including a dead frog inside a jar! I had to beg off from the project, though, because I was on tour. I told them that much as I’d love to do it, I couldn’t possibly open the jar inside the tour bus because it would stink th place up! It would smell like somebody died or something."

"I love soul music. I got it from my mom as well as the other genres. I’m into Joni Mitchell, Etta James, Sly and The Family Stone, Arehta Franklin, George Benson, James Taylor…really diverse stuff. For new music, I’m currently into Neo-Soul. A lot of Erika Baduh, D’Angelo, Musiq Soul Child, etc. But my biggest role model is Beyonce. Not only is she versatile, a superb singer and electrifying stage performer but she could also act. And she knows how to carry herself like a lady."
